Tito Agnoli was born in Lima, Perù, in 1931 from an Italian family. He spent his childhood living in Perù and came back in Italy only after the second world war. Following a first painting education, he joined the architectural faculty at the Politecnico of Milan, where he will met and became assistant of Gio Ponti and Cardo De Darli. While studying he started an intense professional activity in the design field, building the bases for high level collaborations with companies and professionals as Arflex, Cinova, Molteni, Montina, Pierantonio Bonacina, Poltrona Frau, Schiffini, Citterio. In 1952 he designed his very first iconic item: lamps in collaboration for O-Luce. For this reason Tito Agnoli is considered one of the pioneers of the Italian design. During his long carreer he was nominee for several design awards, such as the one for the Compasso D’Oro. In 1986 he won the gold medal at the Chicago Neocon. Agnoli worked for Montina for 21 years, from 1963 to 1984. He passed away ib 2012, and some of his items can be seen at MoMa in New York. div>
