Carlo Bartoli
Carlo Bartoli, born in Milan in 1931, is an architect who graduated in Milan in 1957. He had architects Luciano Baldessari and Marcello Nizzoli as masters and After a period dedicated to architecture Carlo shifted his attention to the product design. He designed for Kartell, Arflex, Tisettanta, Oscam and Rossi D’Albizzante some eternal design icons, as Gaia fiberglass armchair or 4875 chair, the first polypropylene chair. Carlo Bartoli achieved several awards, including winnig two Compasso D’Oro awards: in 2008 he was awarded for the R606 Uno chair in collaboration with Fauciglietti Engineering for Segis. In 2016 he was awarded with Lifetime Achievement Award. During his long carreer he taught at the Politecnico of Milan and at ISIA in Florence and Rome, he also ehxibite his work at the Triennale of Milan, Victoria and Albert Museum of London, at the Stadt Museum of Colonia and also in New York, Praga, Hong Kong, Atene, Buenos Aires. .
